Aoi Sakuraba Jedi Blademaster by ZiemosPendric Aoi Sakuraba Jedi Blademaster by ZiemosPendric
Aoi is quite stylin as a Blademaster here. I wanted to work on my backgrounds badly and think my cloudscapes are improving a bit more.

For those who have not yet read any of the Star Wars extended universe books the shorter blade is a defensive weapon called a Shoto. Luke Skywalker created it as a means to defend himself against an insidious weapon called a Light Whip used by a dark lady of the Sith name of Lumiya.

Very excellent work, with only two flaws that strikes me readily, and I had to LOOK closely for a couple minutes before I noticed.

The shadows on her breasts that suggest the location of her areolae don't seem to be in equivalent positions. On Aoi's left breast, it appears to be pointing directly forward, centered under the seam on her breast. On her right breast, in comparison, it appears to be located several degrees upward along the upper slope of her breast, and more toward her left.

Second is the apparent size of her ears, and their placement, which is very touchy work. Her right ear appears to be somewhat lower and rounder than her right ear.

See my comment on lip definition in the close-up of Sakaki, since I really couldn't see Aoi neglecting the social niceties of grooming, which would likely include a modest lip-gloss or light application of lipstick. Lipstick or gloss also helps prevent drying of the skin of the lips, in addition to any other cosmetic effects it may have that result from pigments.

Yeah the two little shadows on her breast area do kinda look like areolae locations but really that wasn't the intention. I've seen a lot of examples of surface texture shadows in various dramatic comic book art and it sort of led to that. :D

Well, with how Aoi was typically drawn in the manga, her tops normally showed that particular form of localized stress, so I thought you might have been going with the original trend.

I do believe I see what you mean. :D

Great work. On the other hand, short lightsabers show up in the Knights of the Old Republic games, and Yoda used a short lightsaber, as well.
SulliMike23 Featured By Owner Mar 9, 2009 a Jedi? What would make Kaoru then? A New Republic starfighter pilot?

Great work! I really like that strong background, too. I think those clouds look great, and that moon, too. Aoi looks good as always.

Thanks dude
I think I've seen enough examples of cloudscapes both real and fantasy wise that this
time the result was a lot better. Plus doing it with pastels is a little easier.
I don't know what it is but Aoi is just so darn fascinating lately. :D
